Rapidos Chihuahua

We've decided to embark upon the adventure of purchasing another car. We have been sharing/carpooling since we moved out to Kansas and with Alex working 20 miles away with no set schedule it has become very difficult to get around economically. I really hate shopping for a car. It's even more difficult when Alex doesn't even really know what kind of car he wants. After spending the morning driving around to a few car lots and spending most of the time at CarMax we decided to grab some lunch and refuel. As we pulled into the gas station, we were suddenly face-to-face with probably one of the most comical advertisements I have seen in a long time (or maybe it was just the combination of the sun, stress, and hunger). I had to take a picture.

Here is a list of destinations the Chihuahua will take you to. Either they're based in Wichita or they are really, really lost. Maybe that's why the dog looks so sad.

For a moment I truly appreciated the genius behind the marketing of the Greyhound bus. I found some more "Before & Now" pictures of our own rapidos chihuahua.

I started painting the kitchen and the dining room. I should be finished with the kitchen by today so I'll post some pictures of the finished project soon.

How to Properly Bathe a 5 Month Old Great Dane Puppy

Davey is sprouting like a little weed. How big is a 5 month old Great Dane? Large enough to take up the width of our queen-sized bed.

We've been taking 2 mile walks for the last week to burn off as much puppy energy as possible. All of his baby teeth have finally fallen out which makes me really excited because now I can give him all kinds of other chewy treats. I also discovered a new place to stick my husband when he needs a "time-out".

Ha! Ha! Of course, I'm kidding. I can't remember exactly why Alex decided to climb into Dave's cage but it was pretty funny watching Davey wonder why his personal den had been invaded and yet try to share some space at the same time. Here are some before and present pictures of our puppy:

Davey has become a bit of a water lover, but not exactly the type that we had expected. He loves to run in the rain and chase the water and is just crazy about the sprinklers. Here's a small snippet of his sprinkler love. It's hard to tell because he has short hair but he's completely soaked. He had already been playing on the other side of the house for about 15 minutes.

Maybe next time I'll lather him up before hand so that he's nice and clean afterwards. School should be starting soon so I hope all your pre-school shopping is turning out to be rewarding and smooth-sailing!

Good News!

We've been settling in nicely now that we're back home in Kansas. I have some great news... starting on August 3, Alex will be working at the

as one of the newest Food & Beverage Managers. I'm really proud of him and this is something that he has wanted to do for a long time. It's a little difficult to break into Golf Course Management without knowing someone and his interview process has taken almost 3 months. You'd think he was applying for the FBI or something. This is one of the most exclusive Country Clubs in the area and not just anyone can join, you must be invited. It opened in "1900, and is the longest running private club in the state of Kansas, and to this day, continues to be the premier social and athletic facility in Wichita." Or at least that's what their web page says.

Also, I'm a soooo excited because on November 4 we're going to go see

for our 3rd anniversary! I really enjoyed this book and have been waiting forever for the chance to be in a city near enough to go see it. When I lived in Vegas I heard it was playing somewhere in California but it was already sold out. Imagine my excitement when I saw the full-page ad in the Wichita Eagle that it's coming from October 21- November 8! I plastered the refrigerator door with the ad so that Alex couldn't possibly miss the hint. Then just today, I got an email from Newman University saying that Newman students get priority pre-sale tickets! Yippee! I was so bummed at the beginning of the summer when we decided to go to Chicago because that meant I would miss the entire season of the Wichita Music Theater (Broadway actively recruits from this music theater department-they are that good) but this more than makes up for it!
